
Sessions are 45 minutes long and start on the hour. We advise arriving 15 - 20 minutes in advance to ensure you have enough time to prepare for the session. The session starts at the same time for everyone - so don’t be late!
One price for everyone! Adults, children, and teens all pay the same, with tickets ranging from just £4.99 to a maximum of £9.99 thanks to our Super Off-Peak, Off-Peak, and Standard pricing.
Yes, for health & safety reasons there is a minimum age limit of 4 years old.
Yes, there is a designated viewing area down the one side of the ice rink.
Yes! Skate Aids are available to purchase in advanced for £4.99. We have limited availability, we strongly recommend purchasing in advanced.
You're more than welcome to bring your own skates. However, there is no reduction in ticket price if you choose to do so. Gateway Ice Rink is not responsible for your skates, shoes or other property if lost, stolen or damaged.
During the week leading up to Christmas, we expect the ice to be very busy therefore if you're nervous and would prefer a quieter rink we advise to book during a week day before the holidays begin.
We have a small selection of child and adult sized helmets available, please arrive early if you wish to claim these as they're not available to pre-book. We do not provide any other safety equipment such as knee pads or elbow pads but you're welcome to bring your own.
Our Ice Rink is fully covered and enclosed and therefore operates in all weather conditions.
In the unlikely occurrence of unseasonal and/ or extreme weather conditions we will monitor this closely and decide whether or not it is in everyone's best safety to close. If you have any concerns regarding weather and your booking then please email info@gatewayicerink.co.uk
Although covered, the ice rink area is not heated. Please keep this in mind when dressing for the event. It it highly recommended that all skaters wear suitable thick socks & gloves. Several thin layers that can be removed is best along with waterproof clothing.
We do not provide skating lessons.
Skating at high speed, skating backwards, tricks and acrobatics are not permitted. Chains of 3 people or more are not permitted, and neither is weaving or rough/boisterous play. Anyone conducting disrupting behaviour on the ice will be asked to leave and will not be issued a refund.
The use of mobile phone is not permitted on the ice. This is for you own safety and they safety of others.
